August Praise Report!

Hello Church Family and Friends,

In the July Newsletter I shared with you two amazing healing testimonies. Today I have three more stories of powerful healings both physically and spiritually as told by our wonderful folks here at Lifepointe. Read and be encouraged.

Derrick’s story: I am blessed to be able to serve on the praise team at Lifepointe Church. As most of you know, I am an Interventional Cardiologist and finished my training June 2020, About 2-3 weeks before my training was complete, I woke up one morning with severe pain in my right wrist The pain was so severe I couldn’t complete my procedure normally. It felt as if someone was stabbing me with a hot knife every time I gripped something or bent my wrist.

When I graduated I rested my wrist for two months and the pain improved somewhat. Once I started working in September 2020 the pain became more severe and was constant. I had to take Aleve twice a day to make the resting pain manageable and I had to alter how I performed procedures. I finally sought medical attention and had an MRI performed which confirmed significant tendonitis (thankfully nothing required surgery) and I started hand therapy I also began wearing a brace at al times. I then had an injection performed by the orthopedic surgeon. All of this helped with the pain somewhat, but I still could not freely do anything that made me ‘flip’ my wrist or required a strong grip. I no longer had to take Aleve and I continued to wear a brace.

As time progressed, I began to feel more pain in the right elbow and began wondering if this was actually the main issue and the wrist was a bystander. I discussed this with the orthopedist and he offered for me to have a nerve conduction study (EMG) to assess if I had nerve entrapment, etc. I agreed and scheduled the test.

The week I had the test scheduled we had a prayer line at church, the first since COVID if I remember correctly. Many people were prayed for and it was wonderful to see while playing with the praise team. I had a feeling that nudged me to have prayer and I said to myself, ‘If Pastor Jeff and Katrina linger after service, I will go to them.’ Sure enough, after service Pastor Jeff and Katrina lingered and I obeyed the nudge.

After I explained the situation with my wrist, we prayed. As we prayed, Pastor Katrina touched my elbow and said something like, ‘I feel the main issue is the elbow, not the wrist.’ I did not tell them I had been having trouble with my elbow. Almost immediately I could sense a release in my wrist and elbow.

The pain drastically improved. I was able to go without the brace for the first time in months. I cancelled the nerve conduction study. I was able to start doing exercise at hand therapy instead of only stretches. I have been able to shoot basketball without pain. I give God all the praise, glory and honor for allowing me to experience His healing touch again. Please continue to pray I regain all the strength and can return doing the procedures the way I did them before the injury. --With love, Derrick Porter, DO

Danielle’s Story: I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was ten years old. I had three curves. My spine was shaped as an S. The top curve was at 39 degrees, the middle at 32 degrees, and the bottom 28 degrees. When I was 17 I found out I had gotten a fourth curve. I was seeing a chiropractor every other week and in constant pain all the time. It was a really challenging time, and over time I just learned to manage and deal with the pain.

On Wednesday May 26 the church had a healing ceremony. I had not planned to ask for prayer to be healed. I always thought that I can live with my pain and other people need healed first. God had other plans for me. As the night went on, I kept getting this feeling that I need to do something and kept telling myself ‘it’s nothing.’ It was a call to come down and ask for prayer, and I got that feeling again and knew that I needed to go up. I looked at my future mother-in-law and said that I was going to request healing for my spine.

The next morning I got up and felt quite different. I was sore and did not know why. Then I asked my finance to look at my back to see if any of my ribs had popped out. He did not respond and I got a little worried. He just kept rubbing my spine. After a few minutes he said that my back had gotten straighter and was getting healed. Since that night I have had no back pain and have been able to do things I was not able to do before.

A few weeks later I went to my chiropractor and she said that my back has never looked that good and she was shocked. My life has been completely changed and I am so thankful for it!

Glory to God, I am healed! –Danielle Roberts

Hunter’s Story: I started attending service at Lifepointe Church at the beginning of February—the first time I willingly attended in well over a decade. I attended the Wednesday Spirit-Filled Life services in May, and it was life changing. After the second service, Pastor Katrina came to me and said, ‘I sense something in you. You are scared. I can see you are ready to step forward in your walk, but you are timid. I can assure you, as soon as you take that step, you will never look back.’

That following week both Bishop Fred and Pastor Katrina laid hands on me, and I was filled with the Holy Spirit. It was such a wonderful experience! I let the waters flow and was surfing in the Holy Spirit. Since then, I have felt worry-free and an overall wholeness in life. About a month later, I took what I believed was my next step in my walk with Christ and was water baptized on June 27, 2021.

All it takes is one small step (in this case a gentle nudge from Pastor Katrina) to start your walk with Christ—and I assure you, you will never look back. –Hunter Stricklin
