Mountain Climb

Happy New Year; welcome to 2021. I know January is almost over but God is just getting started.  This new year is an open book of opportunity for a blessed and prosperous time in the Lord. I don’t know about you, but I am expecting great things this year. This year is going to be a year of healing, growth and abundant overflow from our Lord Jesus Christ.

For a moment of reflection, 2020 was a time of darkness. A valley time that brought the world to a halt. Now as we enter 2021, we are looking at the mountains we have to climb to put the past to bed. Everyone will look at their mountain differently. I look at it in one way: with FAITH! As believers, we are commanded to walk by faith!

Mark 11:22 Jesus said, “Have faith in God.” As believers, this should be enough. A final statement… a mic drop moment! But Jesus continued saying in verses 23, “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall SAY unto this mountain, be removed and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but BELIEVE that those things which he SAYS shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he SAYS.”  Notice here that we have to only BELIEVE once… but we must SAY three times. Why?? Because we are hard headed humans who try to reason why things don’t work or why things happen. Continuing with the text: vs 24 “Therefore I say unto you, what things you desire, when you pray, BELIEVE that you receive them, and you shall have them. 25 And when you stand praying, FORGIVE, if you have ought against any; that your Father also may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father forgive you.”

Do you see the key to your faith?? Forgiveness. We quote Mark 11:20-24 all the time. But we just skip over or ignore the action that will put our faith into motion. We are commanded to forgive those who have hurt us. When we don’t forgive, God can’t bless us. God can’t heal you if you have unforgiveness. He can’t bless you financially and He can’t answer your prayers! You tie His hands with your unforgiveness.

So as we begin a new year, a new season… I urge my fellow believers to search your hearts. If you have any unforgiveness, release it and give it to God. Begin the new year with a clean heart. This will usher in a new beginning for your walk with the Lord.

Have Faith In God,
